• Catawba College's Museum of Anthropology was created by Peter Cooper in 1963.

• During his time teaching at Catawba College, he trained concomitantly at Livingstone College.
• Peter Cooper worked in the Army Reserve until 1967 when he retired. He also served with the world law movement from 1950 to 1955 (Peter Penn).
