Description :

The City of Arts and Sciences is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex in Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city and one of the 12 Treasures of Spain. It is located at the end of the former riverbed of the Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957. The City of Arts and Sciences was designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, and it consists of five main elements: the Hemisfèric, the Umbracle, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, the Oceanogràfic, and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia. The Hemisfèric is an IMAX cinema, planetarium, and laserium.

The Umbracle is an open structure covered with plants which serves as a walkway to the other elements of the complex. The Príncipe Felipe Science Museum is an interactive museum focused on science and technology. The Oceanogràfic is the largest oceanographic aquarium in Europe. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia is an opera house and performing arts center. The City of Arts and Sciences has become a symbol of modern Valencia, and it is a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. It is especially popular during the summer months when the complex is lit up in vibrant colors. The complex is also home to many events throughout the year, including concerts, art exhibitions, and festivals.
