The only Tribal cultural Museum in the Hill Tracts region is managed by the Tribal Cultural institute. It preserves valuable objects and artifacts of the different tribes depicting their socio-economic, cultural and historical tradition. These include typical tribal dress, ornaments, arms and ammunitions, coins, statues made of wood, bronze and other metal, musical instruments, ivory products, handicrafts, paintings on tribal life and many other objects.
The Tribal Museum is located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It is dedicated to the tribal culture and heritage of the state. The tribal library is home to a huge collection of books, articles, videos and photographs related to the tribal culture. The Tribal Museum also houses an auditorium, a souvenir shop and a cafeteria. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as puppet shows, cultural programs, art and craft workshops and film screenings. The museum also organizes educational tours to nearby tribal villages.
